Hospice is high quality medical care that is focused on comfort and quality of life for the terminally ill.
Hospice service is available to all individuals regardless of age, type of terminal illness, background, or tradition.
Hospice care can be provided in the comfort of home. If the patient is unable to depart from the inpatient facility; the hospice program will attempt provide a home-like experience.
Patients and family members can receive service for 6 months or longer.
It is highly advised to consult with a social worker as soon as possible to maximize service benefit.
Bereavement and spiritual services are available for surviving family members.
The patient generally isn't responsible for the cost of hospice care services rendered to themselves or family members.
